Research and Innovation Policy Project (RIPP)The Australian National University is seeking to make a substantial contribution to the Federal Government’s broad-ranging review of the National Innovation System by hosting a series of Research and Innovation Policy Dialogue Workshops to consider key issues in research and innovation. The series of 6 policy dialogue workshops will be held in Canberra between June and October 2008. The workshops will address the following topics, and four of the six workshops will be open to the public. Topic briefs, agendas and registration instructions coming soon. Below is an overview of the available topic briefs, programs and resources for each workshop. Some programs, resources and registration instructions are still to come.
The Review Secretariat will publish a Green Paper by the end of July 2008, which will be followed by a White paper response from the Government later in 2008. Prior to the workshops, this website will provide a hub for debate and discussion by posting documents for review and comment, such as the workshop topic briefs, opinion pieces, and links to further reading and other organisations’ websites. The workshops will be attended by a wide range of policy-makers, researchers and practitioners, key Departmental officials, review panel members, academics and administrators from ANU and other universities, industry bodies and relevant organisations. Dialogue at the workshops will draw upon the experience, insights and overseas links of attendees, as well as those who have contacted the RIPP secretariat to offer contributions. Please let us know your thoughts, after reading the topic briefs and other resources contained in these pages.
