Research and Innovation Policy Project (RIPP)

The Australian National University is seeking to make a substantial contribution to the Federal Government’s broad-ranging review of the National Innovation System by hosting a series of Research and Innovation Policy Dialogue Workshops to consider key issues in research and innovation.

The policy dialogue, in the form of workshops and roundtable meetings, will be conducted between June and October 2008. Three workshops were held in July 2008. The policy dialogue workshops and meetings will address the following topics, listed in the diagram below.

The Review of the National Innovation System (RNIS) Secretariat published their Green Paper on 9th September 2008 entitled ‘venturousaustralia – building strength in innovation’: www.innovation.gov.au/innovationreview.

The Green Paper will be followed by a White paper response from the Government later in 2008.

The workshops and roundtable meetings will be attended by a wide range of policy-makers, researchers and practitioners, key Departmental officials, review panel members, academics and administrators from ANU and other universities, industry bodies and relevant organisations.
